Life Pieces To Masterpieces

The gala name, "Strong Men...STRONGER," comes from a poem, "Strong Men" by Sterling Brown (1900-1992). It refers specifically to the final stanza:

"The strong men . . . coming on
The strong men gittin' stronger.
Strong men. . . .
Stronger. . . . "

The poem has always had strong personal meaning for LPTM co-founders Mary Brown, Larry Quick and Ben Johnson and was used as the title for the first LPTM art exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery of Art.

Life Pieces To Masterpieces (LPTM) has created the Strong Men...STRONGER Awards to recognize and acknowledge those who have made significant contributions towards supporting LPTM's mission.

The award has been created to honor those men who embody LPTM's core values and are representative of exemplary "gentlemen, scholars, artists, and athletes."
