What type of organization is LPTM?

LPTM is a non-profit, arts-based youth development and education organization which operates after school and on weekends.

How is LPTM different?

LPTM sets out to nurture, embrace, encourage and elevate African American boys and young men. We incorporate artistic, academic, athletic, spiritual and mentorship activities in our daily programs and activities. As a result, we are able to equip them with the skills and tools they need to succeed in life.

What does LPTM provide?

LPTM provides apprentices with daily homework assistance, a light meal, arts, athletics, leadership development and meditation.

Where did the name "Life Pieces to Masterpieces" come from?

"Life Pieces" refers to the life experiences of the apprentices. The anticipated outcome gives rise to a generation of youth who will change challenges into possiblites. It is through these newly realized possibilities that their lives are then transformed into "Masterpieces".

What makes LPTMs art technique special?

All LPTM paintings are born from the life experiences of LPTM apprentices. The colorful, sewn, acrylic on canvas collages are created collectively and each illustrates a shared story.
