Life Pieces to Masterpieces' apprentices learn how to make healthy choices at home, in their neighborhood and at school, enabling them to succeed and thrive against all odds. Apprentices consistently improve their school attendance and performance; improve their social and life skills; and avoid involvement with gangs, the juvenile system, and teen pregnancy. Below are some testimonials directly from the apprentices.

Isaiah Neal is a 6-year old apprentice, aspiring fire fighter and doctor. Isaiah is a gentleman because "he stands up for himself and others and he respects people," a Scholar because he "likes school and speaks clearly," an Artist because he "makes art and likes to sing," and an Athlete because he "loves to play baseball." During his time at Life Pieces he has learned how to speak Spanish, how to create art and how to treat people. When asked why he wants to be a fire fighter and doctor, Isaiah sincerely replied "so that I can put out fires and save people's lives." He has two brothers in the Life Pieces program, David Bing and Joshua Neal.

At Life Pieces, he has been learning about values and spiritual principles. When asked which LPTM Basics he likes the most, he "likes them all" and especially likes the "Brothers Stand...Brothers Greet" accompanied by a bow that he and his fellow apprentices exercise when they greet a guest because "a bow means that the good in me recognizes the good in you."

Some of his favorite activities at Life Pieces are the ability to participate in meditation and to eat healthy food. He already has his business plan figured out: "a charity for homeless kids." Antoine was encouraged to join Life Pieces because his mother observed how his uncle benefited from the program - doing better in school and going on different trips with LPTM - and thought that it would be good for him to join. Antoine's favorite book these days is called the Ink Heart.
